Xiaomi launched Mi 9 today at an event in China. It is the successor to the Mi 8. The device is packed with some exciting and flagship feature. According to the DXOMark score, it is the best camera smartphone Xiaomi has ever made.
Specification
Mi 9 has a 6.39” Super AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint sensor. It has water drop notch with an impressive 90.7 percent screen to body ratio and protected by 6th gen Corning Gorilla Glass. It is powered by the top of the line Snapdragon current flagship octa core 855 SOC built on 7nm process.
Camera
The most exciting feature of the device is camera. It has triple rear camera setup. The main shooter is 48MP Sony IMX586 with f/1.75 and 0.8 pixel size. The main shooter is coupled with Samsung S5K3M5 12 MP f/2.2, 1.0 telephoto lens and Sony IMX481 f/2.2 super wide angle lens. It also has a 20 MP f/2.0 selfie shooter with AI smart beauty. Rear camera supports 960fps 1080p super slowmo and has optical image stabilization.
Other Spec
The device is powered by a 3,300 mAh battery with support for 20W wireless charging and 27W wired charging over USB C. It got 6GB or 8GB RAM variant with 128 GB on board storage. It has NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, dual wifi, dual frequency GPS too. But the Phone lacks 3.5mm headphone jack.
Special Edition
Like last year Xiaomi also launched a beautiful looking special edition or transparent back edition of Mi 9. This variant has 12GB RAM and 256 GB onboard storage.
Pricing
The Mi 9 standard edition comes in three sizes: for a handset with 6GB RAM and 128GB memory it costs ¥2,999 (roughly 32000 rupees), for 8GB/128GB it’s ¥3,299 (35000 rupees) and the special edition Alita: Battle Angel, with specs of 12GB/256GB, costs ¥3,999 (42500 rupees)
