Huawei Will Help Britain To Build 5G Network In Spite Of Security Concern

huawei will build 5G infrastructure in britain

Britain’s Prime Minister Teresa May has given green signal to Chinese telecom giant Huawei to deploy their 5G infrastructure in Britain despite many security concerns. Though Huawei will only help to build ‘non-core’ part of the 5G infrastructure. This decision has drawn much criticism from many British politicians who think Huawei has a tie with Chinese Govt. and that may lead to spying on British citizens.

The decision has been taken by the Nation Security Council, chaired by Prime Minister Teresa May, to allow Huawei limited access to help build non-core parts like antennas.

Significant Of This Decision

This decision will surely make the US angry as they banned Huawei totally from their country. This decision will also put pressure on the other members of the Five Eye Intelligence Alliance- the UK, Australia, New Zeland, and Canada- to do the same. It should be mentioned that Australia and New Zeland already banned Huawei from working on domestic telecom infrastructure projects. Even New Zealand has gone so far as to prevent a domestic company from using Huawei equipment as part of its country-wide 5G rollout.

Huawei is fighting the USA to proved that the government has taken an unconstitutional decision. Huawei denies any connection with the Chinese Government in spy on its user. Nonetheless, this decision will supply fresh oxygen to Huawei.

Huawei denies having any ties to the Chinese government. However, critics point out that Ren Zhengfei, its founder, was in the country’s army and joined the Communist Party in 1978. There are questions about how independent any large Chinese company can be.
