Less than a day left for AMD’s highly anticipated Next Horizon E3 gaming event. Where AMD will launch their next-gen 7nm based Navi GPU. Just before the event, a fresh leak is suggesting that AMD might launch a new CPU. Yes, might guess it right, that missing 16 core CPU from Computex.
Specification:
The leaked CPU is AMD Ryzen 9 3950X. It has 16 cores and 32 threads. It is based on the 7nm processing node and built on Zen 2 architecture. It is the world’s first consumer-grade 16 core gaming CPU. Ryzen 9 3950X has TDP of 105W. It has a base clock of 3.5 GHz. The 3950X features a boost clock of 4.7 GHz, the highest from all Ryzen 3000 CPUs.
At the 105W TDP, it is the most power efficient 16 core CPU we have ever seen. Its closest competitor from Intel the i9-9960X is a 165W chip and runs at lower clock speeds. This monster will make use of two full 8-core Zen 2 dies. Ryzen 9 3950X will support AM4 socket.
But we still don’t have any idea about the pricing of Ryzen 9 3950X. It could be priced anywhere from $699 to $999. Maybe more or less. You have to wait a day for the official announcement of the product.
