If you use Facebook and Instagram on a daily basis then sometimes you may wonder how Facebook knows you like cat video. Well, Facebook is making it easier for you to know to see how Facebook recommend something or show specific types of post that you may have an interest. Facebook is updating its data access tool which will let you view and download more of the data it collects about you.
Facebook has updated Download Your Information on Facebook and Download your Data on Instagram. This will allow you to see how Facebook tracks you on these platforms. How it collects data when you like something or post or share something on Facebook and Instagram.
This is not for all people because not everyone is interested to see how Facebook collects data. But there few people who will love this tool. This is Facebook’s one of the steps to gain user trust that they lost in the Cambridge Analytica scandal. Also, this is to compile with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in Europe, which was implemented in 2018 and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), which took effect earlier this year. Whatever the reason may be still this Facebook has taken a step in the right direction.
