Vivo Announces X50, X50 Pro and X50 Pro+: Specification and Price

Vivo has announced its flagship X50 series that includes X50, X50 Pro, and X50 Pro+. The main focused feature of these devices is mobile photography capability. The X50 Pro and X50 Pro+ have the gimble style image stabilization. 

Vivo X50

Vivo X50 is the smaller counterpart of the three. Vivo x50 features a 6.56 inches 2376×1080 FHD+ AMOLED display. The display has support for HDR and HDR10. The display has a punch hole in the top left corner to house the front camera. It has an in-Display Fingerprint Scanner. Dimension wise right now it is the slimmest 5G phone in the world measuring at 7.49mm.

At the back, Vivo X50 has a quad-camera setup consisting of 48MP f/1.6 custom IMX598 primary sensor coupled with 13MP f/2.48 portrait lens, 8MP f/2.2 wide-angle lens with 120 deg field of vision and a 5MP f/2.48 macro lens. The primary has support for optical image stabilization but it lacks the modern technic like the other two. On the front it has 32MP f/2.48 camera sits in the punch hole of the display.

Vivo X50 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G octa-core SoC coupled with Adreno 620 GPU.  Vivo X50 has 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128/256GB of UFS2.1 internal storage. It has a 4200 mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. On the connectivity side, it has support for SA & NSA Dual-mode 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and other standard connectivity. Vivo X50 runs on Funtouch OS 10.5 on top of Android 10. 

Vivo X50 Pro

Vivo X50 Pro features a 6.56 inches 2376×1080 FHD+ AMOLED display. The display has the support for HDR and HDR10. The display has a punch hole in the top left corner to house the front camera. It has an in-Display Fingerprint Scanner. 

At the back, Vivo X50 has the quad-camera setup consisting 48MP f/1.6 custom Sony IMX598 primary sensor coupled with a 13MP f/2.46 portrait sensor, an 8MP f/3.4 periscope sensor and an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens with 120-degree FoV. In the front it has the 32MP f/2.45 front camera sits in the punch hole in the display. The main camera uses a micro gimble style stabilization system. Vivo has also implemented a so-called Gimbal Radar in the UI, which is an animated ball that reflects the gimbal system’s movement so users know when things are stable.

Vivo X50 Pro+

Vivo X50 Pro+ has all the features it needed to be the flagship of today’s standard. It has a 6.56″ FHD+ OLED Curved display. The screen supports 120Hz refresh rates and HDR10+.  The display has a punch hole in the top left corner to support the front camera. It also features an in-display fingerprint sensor. 

The vivo X50 Pro+ is the first phone to pack Samsung’s brand new 50MP ISOCELL GN1 1/1.3″ sensor. This particular sensor offers 1.2-micron pixels, taking pixel-binned shots equivalent to a 12.5MP 2.4-micron pixel image. Between the bigger pixels and gimbal stabilization, we’re expecting brighter shots than 48MP and 64MP phones. The company says that in combination with the motion deblur algorithm and continuous focus tracking make the videos and stills look amazing at night. It also supports Super Night Mode and Astro Mode for clear pictures of the night sky. 

The main camera in X50 Pro+ supports Gimble style stabilization. The gimbal system that extends the rotation angle and anti-shake area significantly compared to the standard OIS systems nowadays. Aside from the main camera Vivo X50 Pro+ a 13MP f/2.46 portrait camera along with 8MP f/3.4 periscope lens and an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle with 120° FoV and 2.5cm macro. The periscope zoom camera promises up to 60x hybrid zoom called Hyper Zoom. 

Vivo X50 Pro+ is powered by the Snapdragon 865 Soc with the requisite X55 5G modem. It has 8GB/12GB LPDDR4X RAM along with 128GB/256GB UFS 2.1 storage. Vivo X50 Pro+ has a 4315 mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging. On the connectivity side, Vivo X50 Pro has support for SA & NSA Dual-mode 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and it also has a CS43131 Hi-Fi Sound chip. Vivo X50 runs on Funtouch OS 10.5 on top of Android 10.

Pricing of the Vivo X50 Series as follows-

  2. 8GB + 256GB: CNY 3898 (~$546/₹41,250)
  • Vivo X50 Pro:
  1. 8GB + 128GB: CNY 4298 (~$602/₹45,500)
  2. 8GB + 256GB: CNY 4698 (~$658/₹49,750)
  • Vivo X50 Pro+:
  1. 8GB + 128GB: CNY 4998 (~$700/₹53,000)

  3. 12GB + 256GB: CNY 5998 (~$840/₹63,500)

There is no official date when it will release. But Vivo India has confirmed it will be launch in India. Although not all models will be available everywhere.
