Xiaomi Mi 10 5G Launches With 108MP Camera: Price, Specification

After being delayed by the coronavirus pandemic Xiaomi finally launches Xiaomi mi 10 5G in India. Xiaomi last launched its premium flagship in India back in April 2016 as Mi 5. So Mi 10 is the first flagship India after 4 years. The device first launched in China almost three months ago and it comes all the bells and whistles needed for a premium flagship device these days.

Mi 10 Design

Xiaomi Mi 10 features a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,340 pixels) 3D curved E3 AMOLED display with 19.5:9. The display has a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch-sampling rate. The display can go up to 1120 nits peak brightness. The display has a punch-hole which Xiaomi calls DotDisplay to house the front camera setup.

Mi 10 Internal

Xiaomi Mi 10 is powered by the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 SoC. It has  8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. One thing to remember that you can’t expand the storage using the microSD card. Xiaomi Mi 10 has support for 5G, 4G LTE, WiFi 6, and Bluetooth 5.1. There is also a LiquidCool 2.0 Vapor Chamber along with a six stack graphite layer and graphene surface area for thermal management. Mi 10 is paired with a 4,780mAh battery with support for 30W fast wired and wireless charging as well as 10W reverse wireless charging.

Xiaomi Mi 10 Camera

Xiaomi Mi 10 features a quad-camera setup at the back. The main shooter is a 108MP primary sensor with a 1/1.33 inch large sensor size, OIS, 1.6μm 4-in-1 Super Pixels, f/1.69 aperture, and a seven-piece lens. The main shooter is capable of shooting RAW images. There is also a 13MP  f/2.4 wide-angle camera with a 123° field of view. There are two 2MP cameras with f/2.4 of which one macro lens and another is a depth sensor. In front, Xiaomi Mi 10 has a 20MP camera that sits on the punch hole or DotDisplay as Xiaomi wants to call it.

Pricing And Availability

The Mi 10 is priced at ₹49,999 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage whereas the 8GB RAM 256GB storage variant is priced at ₹54,999. Both models come in Coral Green and Twilight Grey color options. The device is available for preorder in Amazon India and Xiaomi website. Xiaomi India chief, Manu Kumar Jain blames the increased GST for the reason behind the higher price of the device compare to the Chinese price.

For the last four years, Xiaomi ignored the Indian market for the Xiaomi premium flagship. But recently OnePlus’s transition from the flagship killer to the flagship manufacturer has forced Xiaomi to think another way about India. But how will it hold up against the likings of OnePlus 8 Pro or iPhone SE 2020, only time will say.
