For smartphone display protection Corning is a household name. Now Coring is ready to release DX and DX+ range of damage-resistant glass for the camera lens cover. Along with scratch resistance, these glasses will also improve the optical performance of the camera.
According to the company, Gorilla Glass DX and DX+ will let 98% of ambient light enter the sensor. Corning claims that traditional lens cover anti-reflective coatings only let in about 95 percent of light. Not only that it will also reduce optical issues like ghosting.
Corning said that DX glass is scratch resistant while DX+ approaches the resistance of Sapphire. Samsung will be the first smartphone company to use these glasses. But it is not clear in which device it will debut but Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 could be the prime candidate.
