Google Has Cancelled Google I/O 2020 Completely

Google I/O is one of the biggest developers conferenced held by Google each year. This year due to rising concerns over COVID-19 pandemic, last month Google has decided to not hold the conference physically. So people thought they might do it online. But due to the worsening situation of coronavirus pandemic, Google has decided to cancel it completely.

In a statement, Google said, “Out of concern for the health and safety of our developers, employees, and local communities — and in line with recent “shelter in place” orders by the local Bay Area counties — we sadly will not be holding I/O in any capacity this year.”

“Right now, the most important thing all of us can do is focus our attention on helping people with the new challenges we all face. Please know that we remain committed to finding other ways to share platform updates with you through our developer blogs and community forums,” Google said.

Google I/O is the conference where Google typically announces new features, products, and services they will be introducing in the coming year to developers, customers, partners, and other interested parties. Now without this conference, it will a bit harder for Google to get the word out about these new products to the world.
