Xiaomi is yet again making one of their line ups confusing for their customer. Xiaomi today launched another smartphone in the Redmi 9 series called Redmi 9. Dont get confused with the global Redmi 9 which already launched in India as the Redmi 9 Prime. This Redmi 9 is more like the global Redmi 9C actually with one less rear camera.

Redmi 9 features a 6.53-inch HD+ (720×1,600 pixels) Dot View display with an 20:9 aspect ratio. It houses a waterdrop notch at the top of the display for the front-facing camera. The Redmi 9 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G35 that’s clocked at 2.3GHz coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of onboard storage which is expandable via microSD card up to 512GB through a dedicated slot.
On the back Redmi 9 has a dual-camera setup consists of a 13MP f/2.2 primary sensor along with a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. On the front, it has a 5MP f/2.2 sensor which housed in the waterdrop notch on the top of the display.
Redmi 9 has a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 10W fast charging and the charger is included in the box. On the connectivity side, it has support for Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, micro USB. It measures 164.9×77.07×9.0mm and weighs 196gms. Redmi 9 runs on Android 10 with MIUI 12 on top of it.
Pricing and Availability
The Redmi 9 comes in Sporty Orange, Sky Blue, and Carbon Black colors option. Redmi 9 price in India has been set at Rs 8,999 for the 64GB storage variant, while the 128GB storage option comes at a price of Rs. 9,999. It will be available from Amazon.in and mi.com starting from August 31st.
