Redmi Note 8 (2021) Specification Leaked, Will Release In Selected Market

Xiaomi’s naming scheme is bad, to say the least. Now they have decided to re-release two years old Redmi Note 8 with the same name and some hardware change. Thanks to FCC listing, the existence of Redmi Note 8 (2021) is sort of confirmed and a tipster has reported some key specifications online.

The Redmi Note 8 (2021) codenamed BILOBA and model number M1908C3JGG is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G85 SoC. In comparison, the 2019 model has the Snapdragon 662 SoC. The device packs a 4,000 mAh battery and runs on MIUI 12.5 out of the box. The same model number was also spotted on European EEC certification as well.

Moreover, Xiaomiui has confirmed in their Telegram channel that the device will have a 22.5W fast charging support. The device will have a quad camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary sensor along with an ultra-wide, depth sensor and a tele-macro sensor. The Redmi Note 8 (2021) will have 4GB RAM and 64/128GB storage.

According to the leak, the display is FHD+ with a 120Hz refresh rate and a waterdrop notch. But the thing is that MediaTek G85 only supports a 60Hz display. Connectivity options are tipped to include Wi-Fi 802.11 ac and Bluetooth v5.

The device will only launch in Global, EU, and Russia. This means it will not be available in India. One thing to be noted here, Xiaomi has not confirmed the launch officially. That means they can also launch it under some other name.
