Reliance Jio Announced Mixed Reality Headset Jio Glass

Mixed Reality is the buzz word in the tech town right now. Now Reliance Jio is also exploring this new technology. In its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today Reliance Jio has announced its first mix reality glass Jio Glass. The company confirms that this is designed for teachers and students to enable 3D virtual rooms and conduct holographic classes through our Jio Mixed Reality cloud in real-time.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students and teachers are forced to conduct online classes. But many argue it is nowhere near the feeling of a physical class. Jio is hoping that Jio Glass will be able to narrow that gap. “Jio Glass is at the cutting edge of technology that provides best-in-class Mixed Reality services to give users a truly meaningful immersive experience. With Jio Glass, the traditional way of learning Geography will now be History,”  Kiran Thomas, President, Reliance Industries Limited.

Jio Glass: Specs and Features

Jio Glass has a different design than Oculus or HoloLens headsets. Jio has designed it as a casual wearable glass. The Jio Glass weighs in at 75 grams and includes a high-resolution display for immersive experiences. It also comes with spatial audio, so the meetings have crystal clear audio.

Jio Glass comes with a cable that will be used to connect it to the mobile. There’s a camera included right at the center – between the two lenses. The smart glasses support all audio and video formats and support 25 video conferencing and collaboration apps, one of them being JioMeet.

Jio has not given any time or date when it will be available to buy. Jio also has not revealed the pricing of the Jio Glass.
