Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 Rumored to Have S-Pen and 120Hz Display

With the launch of Galaxy Fold last year Samsung started the new generation of smartphones. Galaxy Fold was the representative of the future of the smartphone. So the Galaxy Fold 2 is one the most anticipated phone of this year.

Analyst Ross Young from Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) has revealed the specification of the device through a series of tweets. According to the leak, the Galaxy Fold 2 will have a 7.59-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with a 2213 x 1689 pixel resolution. The display could feature a 120Hz refresh rate. The backplane technology will be based on LTPO, or low-temperature polycrystalline oxide, which will enable variable refresh rate and better energy efficiency. The main display will have a Galaxy Z Flip-like hole-punch cutout in the top right corner for the main display camera.

The front (secondary) display will be 6.23″ with a resolution of 2267×819. It will have a refresh rate of 60Hz. This display will be a Dynamic AMOLED display with a backplane of LTPS or low-temperature polycrystalline silicon. LTPS is very similar to LTPO but with reduced efficiency. The secondary display also has a punch-hole camera.

The Galaxy Fold 2 is said to feature Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) on the folding screen, like the Galaxy Z Flip. The UTG will still be covered by an improved plastic layer for better scratch resistance and S-Pen support. So yes Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 will support S-Pen.

Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to come in 4G and 5G models. Rumors claim Samsung will either use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 or the upcoming 865+ chipset. It may have 12GB of RAM and 256GB and 512GB storage variants.
